Shipwrecked on the shores of Illyria, believing her twin brother to be dead, and in need of protection and employment, Viola disguises herself as a man, Cesario, to gain access to the Duke Orsino’s court. She quickly finds herself caught in a tangled web of romantic misadventures. Meanwhile, a band of merry fools stirs up trouble. With its witty wordplay, enchanting characters, and a plot that spins faster than a love letter in the wind, Twelfth Night is Shakespeare at his funniest.
This production is the first collaboration with ACT Theatre, and will rehearse and perform in ACT Theatre spaces!

Youth Shakes is an after-school program that equips students to rehearse and perform their own version of a classic play! Directed by a professional teaching artist, students dig into the language, develop their characters, and ultimately perform on the main Seattle Shakespeare stage.
We perform the same productions being performed on the main stage. Students get to share the same set and enjoy a company potluck dinner where they can meet and talk with the adult counterparts playing the same roles.
“Not only have I learned a lot of things in this program that have specifically benefited my life, I've also learned things that I can pass on to other students. Which is amazing.”
- Youth Graduate
“Participating in this production, which was a first drama experience for my teenage son, was a hugely positive growth opportunity for him. The group of kids was accepting and encouraging to him, and the director was absolutely fantastic at pulling out a great performance from everyone. We’ll be back for more!”
- Parent
“I was so thrilled that she had the experience of not only loving the role and the play, but also loving the experience and the people. Thank you for creating that space for kids.”
- Parent
“I really appreciated how much I was able to feel involved with the process and my inputs were treated as valuable and important in a way that felt very empowering.”
