It’s been four years Seattle Shakespeare Company produced its Wooden O trailer park version of The Taming of the Shrew and for many of the cast members, it was like having a family reunion. When we first announced that we were remounting the production this season, the cast members started sending emails to one another, writing in the voice of their character. At the first rehearsal, some of them even wore parts of their costumes from four years ago. It obviously struck a chord not only with the cast but with audiences as well as it ranks as one of the best attended Wooden O shows in history.
We knew that a lot of people didn’t get a chance to see the show when it was originally produced, and since we wanted to kick off Wooden O’s 20th Anniversary in big way, we decided to bring back the fun and beloved trailer park Shrew.
